WTO Puts Off Requisition of Ukraine for Membership to December 20
OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2007. The World Trade Organization has put off consideration of Ukraine's requisition for a membership to December 20, which was earlier slated for November 30 to December 2, Economy Minister Anatoliy Kinakh said, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.
The minister noted that the main reason is unregulated export duty with the EU.
Ukraine will recommend the EU to turn down export duties after a free trade zone created.
In controversy, the EU seeks Ukraine to undertake a number of obligations regarding export duties.
Kinakh expects the arties to settle the problem by December 20.
The EU has filed its last demand with Ukraine to become the 152nd member of the WTO. Ukraine must reconsider regulation of export duty.
