OREANDA-NEWS. December 03, 2007. In November 2006-November 2007 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) has verified whether economic entities are observing the Federal Law "On electric power industry in the period of transition, and on introducing amendments to some legislative acts of the Russian Federation and recognizing some legislative acts of the Russian Federation invalidated due to adoption of the Federal Law "On the Electric power Industry" (passed on 26th March 2006), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Law forbids combing energy transmission and operational dispatch management in the electric power industry with energy generation and purchase-and-sale operations.

Since some companies violated the above requirement, the Central Office of FAS Russia adopted a decision on their forced reorganization. FAS Russia acted in accordance with the Resolution of the Government of RF "On approving the Control Regulations over legal entities and sole traders regarding the prohibition against combining energy transmission and operational dispatch management in the electric power industry with energy generation and purchase-and-sale operations, and on introducing amendments to the Regulations on the Federal Antimonopoly Service, affirmed by the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation of 30th June 2004" (adopted on 27th October 2006).
