OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2007. By 2011, Belarus intends to grow its GDP in 1,5 times. In the ten months 2007, GDP amounted to Br 78 trillion 277 billion, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Kosinets reported on at a joint session of the two houses of the Belarusian parliament, reported the Official website www.government.by.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the annual targets of the GDP growth, industrial output, and capital investments were met. A total of 3 million 728 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned.

Along with that targets of agricultural and consumer goods production were not met, Alexander Kosinets said. The number of loss making companies is still high: more than 1,193 or 11,1% of the total. In 2006, there were 1,427 unprofitable companies in Belarus.
