OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2007. Plenary meeting takes place of V International Conference Russian Railways on the Transport Services Market: Cooperation and Partnership, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

Vladimir Yakunin, President of Russian Railways, opened the session and noted that the forum had been taking place since 2003, virtually from the moment when the Company was established.

Yakunin said that a significant number of questions which seemed insoluble just a few years ago have now been successfully resolved. At the same time, however, Yakunin highlighted various current problems whose solution awaits the right legislation coming into force.

“We need fundamentally new rules of the game which are appropriate for the market realities already in place and which would, moreover, give further scope to carry out reform,” said Yakunin.
