OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2007. After reconstruction of primary facilities and protection relays was commissioned the aerial line 500 kV "Zainsk Condensation Plant – Nizhnekamsk Hydro Power Plant".

At each end of the line from the side of Nizhnekamsk HPP and Zainskой Condensation Plant were installed the new SF6 switches HPL 550B2 and current transformers IMB550 produced by ABB, and microprocessor protections of Series SE 2710 produced by NPP "EKRA, Ltd" (Chelyabinsk). At the beginning of December for this line will be commissioned two more switches with microprocessor control cabinets. Installation of the new equipment and microprocessor protections is not an innovation for Tatarstan power system. Furnishing the line 500 kV with new equipment and microprocessor protections in full and at each end, is a new milestone in upgrading electrical facilities in the "Tatenergo" energy holding".

Cabinets of microprocessor protections of Series SE 2710 for lines 500 kV, installed at each end of line "Zainsk Condensation Plant – Nizhnekamsk Hydro Power Plant" contain two mutually reserved sets of back-up protections and two devices of single phase second switching ОАPV. This will enhance the reliability of line protection, provides at the higher level the operation and response of protections and automatics HL -500 kV "ZaiCP-NizHPP", which is critical in the period of the coming autumn-winter maximal loads.

In plans for 2008 the power engineering specialists will replace the remaining two switches with microprocessor protections at HV 500 kV of Nizhnekamsk HPP-Udmurtskaya. Thus, reconstruction of open switchgear ORU 500 kV at NizHPP will be completed in full.
