Victor Yushchenko Draws Attention to VAT
OREANDA-NEWS. On November 23, 2007 in his letter to Prime Minister Victor Yanukovych, President Victor Yushchenko noted lack of Government’s steps towards regulating the issue of budgetary compensations of VAT, reported the Presidential website www.president.gov.ua.
President reminded that during his address to the Government he had raised this question. However Cabinet of Ministers did not provide him with any information about the issue being discussed, nor it worked out any measures aimed at effective resolution of the issue.
Besides V. Yushchenko said that despite his numerous requests State Tax Administration of Ukraine did not provide him with any information on total amount of uncompensated VAT. President added that State Tax Administration of Ukraine “is concealing realistic condition of the issue and sends figures of VAT compensations to President’s Secretariat in arbitrary form”.
Regarding this President requested Prime Minister to apply appropriate disciplinary actions to officials who treat their duties irresponsibly and to take measures to resolve the problem of VAT compensations and proper provision of the information by State Tax Administration of Ukraine concerning the subject.
