The general production of coal in Ukraine during January - October 2007 reached 62,523 million tons, which was by almost 5% (by 3,165 million tons) less than in the relevant period of 2006, the Coal Industry Ministry reported, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

The coal extraction was mainly reduced through the Coal Industry Ministry's enterprises, which reduced extraction by 10.05% or by 3.951 million tons versus ten months of 2006 up to 34.867 million tons. Comparing to the 2007 extraction plan the negative balance was even bigger.
