OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2007. A representative of Zarubezhneft JSC took part in the Constitutive meeting of the Russian-Cuban Business Council on November 19, 2007, held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, the company's press service reports. A representative of Zarubezhneft, Aleksander Kozhurin, participated in the meeting.

The meeting decided to elect Boris Aleshin, President of AVTOVAZ Group Limited, as Chairman of the Russian-Cuban Business Council. During the meeting possible lines of bilateral cooperation were discussed and the Work Program of the Business Counsel for the first six months of 2008 was approved. At present Zarubezhneft is considering possible cooperation with Cuban companies in oil and gas sector. Zarubezhneft already has the operational experience in this country. In 1984-1989 Zarubezhneft's specialists rendered technical assistance to oil and gas companies of Cuba in oilfield works concerned with development, facilitation and commissioning of oil fields, geophysical surveys, increasing wells exploitation as well as scientific research and design works.
