OREANDA-NEWS. On November 19, 2007 OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) (RTS: OMZZ; LSE: OMZD; OTC: UHMVY), has been named among Russia's top 10 environmentally conscientious companies, reported the press-centre of OMZ.

The assessment of Russia’s 100 companies demonstrating the best approach to environmental matters issued by the International Social Environmental Union and the Independent Environmental Rating Agency.

The research was based on the results of environmental reports by Russia’s major companies. A number of criteria were taken into consideration, including transparency of the reports and levels of impact on the environment.

Organizers of the league table say they regard the openness of environmental reporting as one of the indicators of management efficiency and of commitment to the maintenance of a good business reputation.
