OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2007. OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) has been named among Russia's top 10 environmentally conscientious companies, the OMZ press service reports. The assessment of Russia's 100 companies demonstrated the best approach to environmental matters according to the standards issued by the International Social Environmental Union and the Independent Environmental Rating Agency.The research was based on the results of environmental reports by Russia's major companies. A number of criteria were taken into consideration, including transparency of the reports and levels of the impact onto the environment. Organizers of the league table say they regard the openness of environmental reporting as one of the indicators of management efficiency and the commitment to the sustaining of good business reputation.
