OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2007. Blast furnace No. 5 has been shut down for second grade capital repair. This furnace has been in operation for 2 decades after reconstruction.

In 35 days this large and complicated aggregate is to be practically completely renovated. All the work from the foundation to the furnace top, from dismantling to commissioning, has been entrusted to “SMU Zaporizhstalstroy-1”. Specialists from Metallurgical Equipment Maintenance Shops 1,2,4, Refractory Maintenance Shop, Electrical Maintenance Shop and Central Electrotechnical Laboratory are to accomplish a large volume of preparatory and repair work too.
