OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2007. A renovated parking complex for 1000 cars in front of  Pulkovo-1 is set in operation in test regime after reconstruction, the press service of Pulkovo airport reports. Total area of the open parking lot is 82500 square metres. It is divided into two zones: for short-term and long-term parking accommodating 600 and 400 cars respectively. This is enough to handle all cars during the peak season this year and within the nearest future. Earlier on, two separate parking lots functioned at "Pulkovo-1",  which provided up to 500 places.

For the first time European parking system was introduced in the Pulkovo Airport - all processes from getting a parking ticket to payment are fully automatic. Separate entrance is provided for scheduled buses, shuttle-buses and other types of public transport.

Parking complex is equipped with video surveillance system with an option of saving and playing recorded information. Beside jockeys, employees of security service will be working at the parking lot round the clock, which will provide a higher level of transport and passengers' belongings security.

If a car stays at the parking lot less than 24 hours, the price is 100 roubles per hour; long-term parking costs 250 roubles per day. Short-term parking (15 minutes) is free of charge.

In the course of reconstruction, the plan of the territory has experienced changes, security systems were installed, new road signs were constructed, and corresponding road marking had been made.

Public address systems were also upgraded. For drivers, comfort an information board showing parking zones and movement direction was put up at the entrance to the territory of Pulkovo-1. The overall money resource comprised 73 mln 639 thousand roubles of debt investment.
