OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2007. Particularly, the company has started producing equipment for the reactor systems of the first floating nuclear power plant and the world’s strongest fast-breeder reactor BN-800 to be built at Beloyarsk NPP, reported the press-centre of I.I.Afrikantov OKBM.

The company has done big work on innovative projects of nuclear reactors for low-capacity nuclear power plants, ships and new nuclear ice-breaker. This year the company’s sales made up almost 5bln RUR.

By increasing its output and improving its financial situation, OKBM is increasing its profits and, consequently, is raising the wages of its employees: this year the average salary has been raised to 19,300 RUR a month.

I.I.Afrikantov OKBM (Experimental Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering) was set up by the Soviet Government on Mar 1 1947 on the basis of the Design Bureau of Gorky Machine Building Plant as a special bureau for designing equipment for nuclear power industry. The company is subordinate to the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom).
