OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2007. Fifty-year-old Sergey Kogoghin, Director General, devoted only one tenth of his life to KAMAZ. But exactly this part is still the crowning achievement in his biography, reported the press-centre of KAMAZ.

In 1999-2002 Sergey Kogoghin held the post of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economics and Industry of Tatarstan. In June 1999 he was elected a member of the Board of Directors of KAMAZ Inc. And in April 2002 he came to Naberezhnye Chelny already as a general director.

Headed by him the enterprise not only came out of a recession, but also regained its leadership in the automobile industry. In 2002-2006 the growth of production volumes of KAMAZ Inc. made up 20-30%. In 2007 the company will “grow” no less than by 20%. And by cost-effectiveness it can even be among the world top three.

To date the general director of KAMAZ Inc. should be a talented economist, an assertive businessman, a competent production organizer, and in general – a great authority in the automotive field. Kogoghin managed to show his worth in all these roles at the head of KAMAZ. He became a real generator of new ideas who can find unusual and effective solutions when standard measures lead to nothing.

In 2007 Kogoghin is among the top seven businessmen of Russia by version of “Expert-400”.

With the help of Kogoghin the company:
- creates new assembly enterprises abroad;
- creates joint enterprises with world automobile components producers;
- concludes agreements with city and regional authorities of Russia;
- develops leasing successfully;
- continues developing the service centre on a new plane;
- positions its products abroad actively.
