OREANDA-NEWS. In 2008, Russian Railways will carry out an investment project entitled "Applying Resource-Saving Technologies in Rail Transport from 2009 to 2011 and up to 2015", Russian Railways press service reports.

Russian Railways has announced a tender and invites proposals from project and design organizations and the producers of technical equipment which can reduce the consumption of fuel, energy and material and labour resources.

The proposed technical equipment must be a finished product, ready for introduction and application at Russian Railways and its subsidiaries. Proposals can be submitted from November 15, 2007 to February 15, 2008.
