OREANDA-NEWS. On November 13, 2007 President Robert Kocharian received the Chairman of the Bank of Netherlands Knut Vellink, who arrived to Armenia on official visit, reported the Presidential website http://news.president.am.

Assessing the relations of the two countries as excellent, the Chairman of the Bank of Netherlands spoke with satisfaction about close cooperation of his institution and the Central Bank of Armenia.

At the suggestion of R. Kocharian he spoke about the current situation at the financial sector of our economy, possible developments, and stressed the apparent achievements.

Knut Vellink spoke also about his meetings in Armenia, noting that he had had very interesting and effective discussions and was impressed with the professionalism, receptivity, and knowledge of the participants. According to Robert Kocharian, Armenia is striving to become the center of intellectual services in our region and toward that end has made major investments in human capital.

The President of Armenia expressed confidence that Mr. Vellink’s participation at the discussions will be very useful for the Armenian specialists involved in the financial sector.
