OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2007. On November 15 SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev received the President of LUKOIL Vahid Alakbarov. Having welcomed the guest in his motherland, R. Abdullayev spoke about the achievements in oil-gas sector of Azerbaijan and especially successes of SOCAR. V. Alakbarov noted that in every visit, he witnesses new accomplishments that make him feel happy. He highlighted that his company participates in the projects implemented in all sectors of the Caspian Sea. V. Alakbarov said that there is new generation of oil workers emerging in both SOCAR and LUKOIL . He highly estimated the works done in this direction by SOCAR. The importance of sending the students, who are obtaining their education at oil field, to the prominent universities of the world, and turning Azerbaijan State Oil Academy into the educational center which will prepare qualified personnel for all countries of Caucasus, Middle East and Central Asia were also discussed. It was strongly agreed that this goal can be achieved only through development of the Academy in accordance with the universal standards. Also, the conditions of the oil and gas projects in which LUKoil has a share were discussed, and there were also exchange of ideas around the issues interesting both parties.
