Kamennogorsk Paper Mill: New Environmentally Safe Necessary
OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2007. There were completely excluded caustic and hydrogen peroxide from the recycling process at the unique recycling plant for waste paper put into operation at Kamennogorsk Offset Paper Mill in 2005. The Mill has been transferred to so-called enzymes that are fed automatically now, reported the press-centre of Kamennogorsk Offset Paper Mill.
Due to innovations the feed of sodium silicate and surfactant has significantly decreased. According to preliminary assessment of specialists the economy of chemicals and electric power will be about 30 %. Now we spend about 6 kg of enzymes per 3 tonnes of waste paper, and before that we used to spend about 10 kg of silicate alone.
The new for Russia technology gave a good account of itself in European countries. According to General Director of KOPM Anatoly Ilyin the technology is now in use in France, Italy and in many other countries. After such a recycling only environmentally sound components get into water.
The transfer to harmless chemicals is the next stage of the program of modernization of NWTC Enterprises directed at improvement of production process and of population life in the regions of the enterprises’ location, and exclusion of adverse influence on the environment.
