OREANDA-NEWS. On November 09, 2007 talks between governmental delegations of Kazakhstan and China lead by Kazakh Prime-Minister Karim Massimov and Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Wu Yi respectfully have been held at the Government House, reported the Official website http://en.government.kz.

During the negotiations the parties discussed prospects of further development of political, economic and culture-humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.

Heads of the delegations also exchanged opinions on prospects of development of partnership in non-extractive sectors of the economy, revitalization of fuel-and-energy and near-border cooperation, and rational usage of water resources of trans-border rivers.

Both parties found the dynamics in the realm of trade and economic ties positive. Head of Kazakh Government said: “There is a significant potential for improvement of the achieved indicators”.

In her turn Ms. Wu Yi emphasized that “Kazakhstan is one of China’s important partners in the region” and expressed interest in joint implementation of large investment projects.

Kazakh Prime-Minister expressed confidence that the Chinese delegation’s visit “will add a new impetus to deepening of strategic partnership between our two states”.

As a result of these successful negotiations between Kazakh and Chinese delegations, Kazakh national company KazMunaiGaz and Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) signed an agreement on guideline principles of construction and exploitation of “Kazakhstan-China” gas pipeline.
