OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2007. Have you ever thought what most precious thing in life is? Health of five-year Allaongar Salamatov is of the most valuable thing for his parents. The boy is suffering from rare but treatable cardiac defect. He needs a complex operation to throw off the illness but unfortunately, for the time being, local health professionals do not perform such operations.

For different reasons including bureaucracy, quote and staff shortage, lack of technologies - the state sometimes cannot render timely assistance to such patients as Allaongar. Therefore a public fund “Voluntary Charity Society” (VCS) is the last instance for the parents in despair. From the beginning of its activities the fund has been abiding following principle:

"CHILDREN MUST NOT DIE FROM TREATABLE DISEASES!"

This year the fund reached a Republican level with its charitable campaign - “Present life to children.” The campaign includes voluntary collection to make assistance to severely ill children who need urgent treatment abroad.

The initiative of VCS has seen support of many companies including Alliance Bank. The partners are charitable non-commercial funds: Sabi, Kus Zholy, Seimar Social Fund, and mobile operators – KarTel, GSM Kazakhstan, VAS Development, Kazakhtelecom, Kazkommertsbank, Air Astana Air Company.

Sending a text message "1" to 8099, allows mobile phone users of "Kar-Tel" and "GSM Kazakhstan" to help sick children. Message costs KZT 280. Tens of thousands of such SMS messages have already been sent using a mobile communication channels.

Moreover banks organized cash donations collection in any outlet of partner bank of campaign, or transfer of funds through Internet-banking. Collection of donations is carried out on no-commission basis.

“Voluntary Charity Society” public fund guarantees that all collected funds will reach their addressees, and together with partners calls everyone who is not deaf to children suffering to present them a life. "With joint efforts, we shall help sick children to have the precious health and assess beauty of the surrounding world" – Aruzhan Sain, Director of the Fund said.

From the beginning of campaign we have collected more than KZT 20 million, help was provided to ten sick children. Among them – eight-year-old Nastya Zavidova who suffered from aplastic anemia; one and half years old Dana Sharipzhan – cochlear implant which helped her to gain hearing was inserted; two years old Artem Vaschenikin with complex cardiac defect; three years old Yuliana Omelchenko with cardiac defect and Murat Baidauletov who had 2 operations after a car accident. Average cost of each of these twelve operations is approximately fifteen thousand dollars.

Organizers of charitable campaign "Present life to children " - " Voluntary Charity Society” public fund decided to prolong fund collection on the grounds of which children were saved from the burden of heavy malady and parents from the feeling hopeless and alarmed.
