World Bank Grants 200 m. USD Credit to Ukraine to Reform Energy Sector
OREANDA-NEWS. On November 09, 2007 Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko and World Bank Director in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus Paul Birmingham have reached an agreement on grating Ukraine the 200 M. USD craft to reform the energy sector, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.
The credit will be provided for 17 years at the interest rate of the LIBOR.
The funds will be used for diminishing spending for technical operations at the Crimean, Dnipropetrovsk and Donbas high voltage substations, launch of an information management system and cut of energy losses through transpiration.
The World Bank also granted the 105 M. USD credit to reconstruct the Dnipro Heat Power Plant, the "UkrHydroEnergo" CEO Semen Potashnyk said.
