New Railway Bridge Across Irtysh Opened
OREANDA-NEWS. On November 12, 2007 Vladimir Yakunin, president of Russian Railways, opened a new railway bridge across the River Irtysh on the Omsk branch of Western Siberian Railways, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
Yakunin congratulated all those at the Omsk department involved in the project on their successful completion of the new railway bridge over the River Irtysh.
Commissioning the bridge across the Irtysh will facilitate high-speed traffic (up to 160 kmph) between Omsk and Novosibirsk and an increase in rail safety. The new bridge will also increase the capacity along the Trans-Siberian Main Line.
