OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2007. During the Second World Congress of Agricultural and Agrarian Financing the Chairman of the Board of management S.Roumas was elected a member of Central Committee of CICA.

The participation of the Chairman of the Board of management of JSC "Belagroprombank" in Central Committee of CICA gives extra opportunities for profound study of world experience of functioning of agricultural sphere of economy to JSC "Belagroprombank" and to the Republic of Belarus, and also allows the Bank to realize in practice advanced bank technologies in the sphere of crediting of the agroindustrial complex.

In May 2007 JSC "Belagroprombank" became the member of International Agricultural Credit Confederation - CICA (Confederation Internationale Du Credit Agricole). CICA is the largest association of agricultural banks. The members of CICA are such authoritative credit organizations as DZ Bank AG (Germany), Credit Agricole Bank (France), Agricultural Bank of China (China), Raiffeisen Zentralbank Oesterreich AG (Austria), UBI Banca (Italy), and Rosselhozbank (Russia).

The main purpose of CICA activity is the discussion of actual problems and achievements arising in the agricultural sphere all over the world. Special attention is paid to mutually beneficial cooperation of the bank sector with the agricultural sphere.

The Second World Congress of Agricultural and Agrarian Financing was held in the period from October 31 till November 3, 2007 in Bangkok (Thailand). The organizers of the Congress were six international confederations of agricultural crediting. They are CICA, APRACA – Asian-Pacific Association of Agrarian and Agricultural Credit, AFRACA – African Association of Agrarian and Agricultural Credit, ALIDE – Latin American Association of Financial Institutions, NENARACA – Regional Association of Agricultural Credit of North-Eastern Africa.
