OREANDA-NEWS. Specialists working with Krasnodarneftegaz have discovered a new oilfield in the Krasnodar Territory - the East-Chumakovskoye field, Rosneft's press service reports. This is the third field to be discovered at the Slavyansko-Temryuksky licensed block in the Temryuksky region. Earlier on, in 2005, Krasnodarneftegaz discovered the high-output Chumkovskoye field, and, in 2006, the YuMG gas condensate field.

The first well at the East-Chumakovskoye field was drilled following the results of a detailed geological and geophysical research. The drilling, which was carried out by the Krasnodar branch of RN-Burenie, began in spring 2007 and was completed once tests were carried out in October.

At present, the optimal well-flow rate and reserves at the field are being determined on the basis of hydrodynamic research. Preliminary estimates show that well-flow rates could reach 120-200 tonnes of oil per day. The discovery of this field confirms prospects for exploratory drilling in this region.
