OREANDA-NEWS. In Jan-Oct 2007 the capacity factor of Balakovo NPP made up 86,28%, reported the press-centre of Balakovo NPP.

Presently, the plant is operating safely and efficiently. All of its four units are in service.

The radiation situation at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.

In Oct a Rosenergoatom commission inspected Balakovo NPP to see if the plant complied with the safety standards and if it was ready for the autumn-winter 2007–2008. After the inspection the chairman of the commission Oleg Zhirkov said: “This inspection has proved once again that Balakovo NPP is one of the best and, in some aspects, the best in Rosenergoatom Concern. We have detected no serious deficiencies. The plant is ready to meet the peak demand of the autumn-winter period.”
