OREANDA-NEWS. On November 05, 2007 the seminar took place. The organizer was Bulgarian Atomic Forum, reported the press-centre of Atomstroyexport.

The seminar was attended by Minister of Economy and Energy of Bulgaria Petr Dimitrov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Bulgaria Vania Dobreva, Director General of Belene NPP Iordan Georgiev, Deputy Executive Director of Kozloduy NPP Alexander Nikolov, representatives of the leading Bulgarian universities and news agencies.

The key topic of the seminar was the training of personnel for Belene Nuclear Power Plant.

The deputy chief engineer of Novovoronezh Training Center Alexander Trufanov told the audience about Atomstroyexport’s experience in training personnel for nuclear power plants in different countries. For Belene NPP ASE is ready to train operating personnel of over 270 professions and positions. Special attention will be given to the training of safety system operators. “In order to successfully implement the project we should jointly search for solutions to the personnel-related problems,” Trufanov said.

Dimitrov pointed out the importance of Belene NPP project for the economy of Bulgaria. Its successful implementation will ensure energy security and, consequently, political stability in Bulgaria and the Balkans. And the training of high-qualified personnel is one of the key prerequisites of success.

After the seminar the sides discussed specific proposals for training personnel for Belene NPP.
