Belarus to Annually Produce 9,5 mln Tonnes of Cement by 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. Due to the technical upgrade Belarus’ cement industry will annually produce 9,5 million tonnes of cement by 2010, Minister of Architecture and Construction of Belarus Alexander Seleznev said at a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers, reported the Official website www.government.by.
According to him, the sector will be modernized in line with the governmental comprehensive programme on developing the material and technical basis of the construction industry for 2006-2010. “The implementation of the programme is underway; we have determined sources of financing and have drawn up relevant business plans,” Alexander Seleznev said.
At present the Belarusian cement plants have been taking top-priority measures in order to lighten the peak cement production load. In November 2007 Belarusian Cement Works will send into operation new cement production facilities in Kostiukovichi. The company will additionally produce up to 200 thousand tonnes of cement. Krichevtsementnoshifer will commence the analogous production facilities as well.
According to Alexander Seleznev, the production of other construction materials will be also stepped up. For example, the output of walling will be more than doubled by Bereza Plant of Silicate Articles and Zabudova Co.
Large-panel house building companies stepped up the output within the framework of the comprehensive programme for 2006-2007 as well. They increased the production by 300 thousand square meters while the task was 247 thousand.
