SIBUR and Yokogawa Create an Industrial Automation Center
OREANDA-NEWS. Nizhnevartovsk (Khanty-Mansiysky AO), November 6, 2007: As per cooperation agreement concluded in 2006 between Yokogawa Electric Corporation and SIBUR, the latter opened SiburTyumenGaz–Yokogawa Center on the basis of its subsidiary SiburTyumenGaz JSC.
The new division would develop, introduce, and support new automation projects at gas processing plants. Among other things, SiburTyumenGaz–Yokogawa Center will service and support the Japanese company solutions in the field of industrial automation – automation and process control systems (ACS) and field instrumentation.
The company has already installed one of the automation systems – start-up system – at Yuzhno-Balyksky GPP and plans to put into operation an oil absorption plant (MAU-3) equipped with modern ACS and instrumentation at Nizhnevartovsky GPP. In the future, new automation solutions are expected to be introduced at other SiburTyumenGaz JSC plants .
Partnership with Yokogawa Electric Corporation allows to significantly reduce the time schedule of site modernization and install world-scale control systems and field instrumentation, as well as cut down operational costs and improve operational safety. As per the agreement, Yokogawa will deliver all the necessary equipment and documentation to the Center and provide consulting and training twice a year. Similar centers were launched a few years ago at SIBUR-Neftekhim JSC and Tobolsk-Neftekhim LLC.
