OREANDA-NEWS. TransContainer intends to increase the cargo turnover through Transsib. The projects aimed to raise the cargo transportation from the Asia-Pacific Ocean region to Transsib affected the native market of container carriages as it gained 750ths ton over the 9-month period or 34% higher prior year period.

The serious part of transportation is provided at the participation of CIS and Baltic-states railways.
The project aimed to develop own network of representations, agencies and JVs in Russia and abroad and modernization of capacities was recognized to be of priority.

TransContainer was set up on the basis of RZHD-held center on container carriages. It was founded in 2006 and had 23ths platforms, 177ths containers, 47 terminals.

The share capital is worth 13.9bn rub. split in 13894778 common stocks of 1ths rub. par. The major holders involve RZHD - 100 % minus 1 stock and Zheldorreforma - one stock.
Now 15% are assumed to be sold to investors; RZHD will have 50%+1 stock as a working interest after the restructuring.

The 2006-net profit (RAS) reached 1.44bn rub.; revenues coming to 5.83bn rub.; gross profit - 2.06bn rub.; pretax profit - 2.06bn rub.
