OREANDA-NEWS. Kaluga saw the first session of postal employees of the region initiated by the Governor of the region A.Artamonov. It aimed to set efficient direct dialogue between the Administration of the region and FSUE Russian Post.

The event is attended by the Governor of Kaluga region A.Artamonov, Chairman of local Assembly P. Kamenskiy, FSUE Russian Post Deputy Director General A. Konoval, heads of administrative municipal units, heads of general post offices and postmen. The discussed questions concerned cooperation between authorities and postal employees.

The representatives of Russian Post insisted that the solution of the problems in the sphere is to be solved jointly by both regional and municipal authorities. А. Konoval thanked the Administration of Kaluga region and its Governor for supporting postal service in the region.

Current dialogue between Russian Post and Administration of the region is especially urgent as we take measures when nowadays postal matters are discussed and solved by the representatives of the all-levels authorities, he noted.

Рostal employees reported of the problems they face everyday, lack of high-quality personnel, bad roads, broken pedestrian bridges and dams, non-lighted streets and porches, broken postboxes are among them. However despite of the difficulties postal employees in Kaluga region managed to keep the most important thing - post offices network. The last 5 years saw not a single closing of post office, but witnessed 38 ones reconstructed for the period of 2005-2007 and 52 units repaired. Local citizens are proud of their post offices got new image after being repaired. A lot of people come to post to see such room in the village, notes postman of post office Nagornoe А. Frantsusova.

Closing the meeting the Governor of Kaluga region promised to control problem sectors of postal development in the region. А. Artamonov ordered the heads of municipal institutions to help to find places for new post offices in site development, repair existing post offices and maintain roads and approach routes to postal units in good condition.

The results of the meeting was establishing of resolution with the main points as developing and adopting new plan of joint events for 2008-2010. It concerns implementing Agreement between the Government of Kaluga region and FSUE in development and improvement of postal communication in Kaluga region and preparation of joint appeal to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation V. Zubkov to allocate extra budget funds for modernization of federal postal service network and compensation of losses from rendering universal services and delivery of periodicals in 2008.
