OREANDA-NEWS. In January-September 2007, the ports of the Baltic states handled 106.876 million tonnes of cargo (+2.4%, year-on-year). The ports of Latvia account for 44.1% of total throughput, 33.2% fall on Estonian ports and 22.6% on Lithuanian ports. The ports of Latvia handled 47.165 million tonnes of cargo (+4.1%, year-on-year), Estonia – 35.526 million tonnes (+ 4.2%), Lithuania – 24.185 million tonnes (+9.9%). In the reported period the highest results were demonstrated by the port of Tallinn – 28.654 million tonnes (-6.6%). The second is the port of Ventspills – 23.865 million tonnes (+8.6%), the third is the port of Klaipeda – 20.417 million tonnes (+16.5%).
