OREANDA-NEWS. On October 31, 2007 ShAR-BM automatic regulation systems have been installed at the 4th units of Bilibino NPP. Such systems control the work and the stoppage of a reactor, maintain the reactor’s capacity and ensure its change. The systems have been installed by INESS company, reported the press-centre of Bilibino NPP.

The installation of the equipment was part of the overhaul of the automatic safety control systems of the 4th unit: presently, the personnel of Bilibino NPP are replacing the outdated and worn-out equipment of the unit.

The systems have been produced by Fizpribor (Moscow) on the basis of modern software and state-of-art technologies. The designer of the equipment is TsNIIKA.

Presently, a representative of the Moscow company is testing the units.

The 4th unit of Bilibino NPP is to be restarted on Nov 15. ShAR-BM systems are supposed to help Bilibino NPP to continue its measures for bringing its equipment into compliance with nuclear safety standards.

Next year the plant will do similar work at its 2nd and 3rd units.

The modernization of the automatic safety control system of the 1st unit is to be finished by 2009.
