OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2007. Vyacheslav Sinugin, chairman of OJSC “Federal hydrogenerating company “HydroOGK” thanked FSUE “PO “Sevmash” team for developing and manufacturing floating power generating unit for Kislogubskaya floating power plant.

Pilot block-module with new orthogonal hydroturbine with capacity of 1.5 MW was built on the enterprise in 2006 by order of “Ingeokomenergostroy” LTD. In January 2007 power generating unit was towed to the shore of Barents Sea and is installed on Kislogubskaya floating power plant.

According to Sevmash Deputy Director General for producing marine equipment and civil shipbuilding Valery Borodin, testing proved that efficiency of the new power generating unit exceeds project figure and it is caused by its successful construction.

“In 2008 project works on block module of Kolskaya floating power plant (Barents Sea) are expected to be continued, as well as on the greatest Mezen floating power plant in Mezen gulf (White Sea). I hope for continuation of our successful cooperation”, – stands in gratifying letter of “HydroOGK” Head.

Today Sevmash continues works on “Floating power engineering”. Enterprise experience will be the basis for serial production of floating power generating plants in Russia. Advantages of the yard are obvious. Development of Russian engineers (floating construction method) allows reducing works price. According such way power generating unit is built as an ordinary vessel and than it is towed afloat to the place of stationing.
