Govt of Ukraine to Take Loan to Pay off 2007 State Budget Gap
OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2007. The Cabinet of Ministers intends to take a 300 M. USD loan from the World Bank to pay off 2007 budget gap, Economy Minister Anatoliy Kinakh said, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.
The loan is expected to be taken within the framework of the project of strategy of development.
The relevant talks were held in Washington, USA at an annual meeting of the leaders of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. We agreed to sign a relevant agreement by 2007's close, Anatoliy Kinakh said.
Earlier, the World Bank announced about allocating 500 M. USD to support the strategy of development in Ukraine in 2007. In July 2005, the World Bank provided Ukraine with 250 M. USD within the framework of the project the first loan to support strategy of development.
Meanwhile, the Economy Ministry predicts no changes in borders of the monetary corridor in 2008.
