OREANDA-NEWS. On October 24, 2007 Russian president Vladimir Putin awarded medals for bravery and selflessness during the course of their duty to crew on the Neva Express, which was derailed by a bomb in summer 2007. The ceremony took place in the Kremlin, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

Medals were awarded to Igor Nikolayevich Boldyrev, head of the passenger train, Andrey Nikolayevich Ivanov, brakeman, and Aleksey Gennadevich Fedotov, locomotive driver.

Medals were also awarded to railway workers for services in developing railway transport, including Svetlana Mikhaylovna Sokova, the manager of Shilovo railway station, Anatoliy Yakovlevich Sidenko, chairman of the Central Council of the All-Russian War and Railway Veterans Organisation, and Yuri Nikolayevich Chumachenko, a member of the Veterans Council of the Moscow-Sortirovochnaya locomotive depot.
