OREANDA-NEWS. The visit to France of the delegation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) headed by the Deputy Head of the FAS Russia Mr. Andrey Tsyganov was held, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

During the visit the delegation participated in the events conducted within the frameworks of the activity of the Competition Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

At the Committee's meeting Mr. Tsyganov made a presentation about FAS Russia' principles of examining merger transactions as well as on the role played by the Expert Councils in their expertise. Besides, FAS Russia submitted to the Committee the Annual Report on Competition Policy in the Russian Federation in 2006.

In the frames of the visit Mr. Tsyganov held negotiations on further development of collaboration between the FAS Russia and the OECD in competition policy sphere with Ms. Carolyn Ervin, Director General of the of the OECD Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs.

On October 17, 2007 in Paris the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation and the Finnish Competition Authority signed the Programme on cooperation for 2008-2009.

Apart from the events within the activity of OECD Competition Committee the FAS Russia' delegation participated in the session of the Steering Committee of the International Competition Network (ICN). The issues of the current activity of the ICN and its Working Groups and organization of the 7th ICN Annual Conference in Kyoto (Japan) in April 2008 were discussed at the session.
