MNP Group Launches the Sixth Hull for Rensen Shipbuilding
OREANDA-NEWS. Nizhegorodskij Teplokhod OJSC (Bor, Nizhni Novgorod region, MNP group) has launched the sixth hull of a dry cargo and contract carrier project 164-РТ for Rensen Shipbuilding B.V (Netherlands). The Sirakuza is a self-propelled vessel designed for transportation of loose and bulk cargo. The vessel’s length is 110 m, the hull’s weight - 660 tonnes. The hull will be later sent to Rotterdam for final equipment an then the vessel will be deployed for operation in Western Europe.
The keel of the seventh vessel project 164-РТ has been laid down at the yard already. As it was earlier informed, the first contract for construction of three hulls for Rensen Shipbuilding BV was signed in July 2005. All the hulls were completed by the end of 2006 and sent to Rotterdam for equipment. In June 2006, Nizhegorodskij Teplokhod and Dutch Rensen Shipbuilding BV signed another contract for construction of hulls for bulk carriers project 164-РТ. It has been designed for transportation of general, bulk cargo including grain, mineral fertilizers, metal, timber, containers of international standard. Vessel’s length is 110 m, width – up to 11.40 m, depth – 3.65 m, draught – 3.55 m, hull’s weight - 660 tons. The vessel is planned to be used at internal waterways of Europe.
Nizhegorodskij Teplokhod plant specializes in manufacture of technical and auxiliary fleet, port equipment and units of marine engineering. Marine and Oil-and-Gas Projects group (MNP group) manages projects of marine engineering, oil-and-gas equipment, engineering of offshore drilling platforms. The group also includes Krsnoye Sormovo plant (Nizhni Novgorod), Nizhegorodskij Teplokhod plant, Volgograd shipyard, Astrakhan shipyard called after III International, Lotos plant (Astrakhan), as well as central design department Korall (Ukraine) and Friede & Goldman (USA).
