Belarus Can Earn Additional Br700bn on Agricultural Market
OREANDA-NEWS. Using the price trends in the international agricultural market Belarus can generate up to Br700 billion of additional revenues, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said during a session of the Council of Ministers. The session focused on the nine-month results of the socio-economic development of the country, reported the Official website www.government.by.
In January-September milk production increased by 4,3% from the same period last year and made up 3,7 million tonnes. At the same time the processing industry is still lagging behind. The production of butter, tinned milk, dried milk and other dairy products apart from cheeses has been reducing. “Thus, the flows of goods are not regulated in the country so far,” the Prime Minister said.
“The processing companies use their capacities at 56%. If the production of milk and meat has been growing in the country, why do not the processing companies work at full capacity then? Who gains additional profits today? Why do these profits slip away from the processing companies?”, - Sergei Sidorsky said.
