OREANDA-NEWS. On October 18, 2007 Energy Consulting/Integration, member of Energy Consulting Group, has announced completion of Data Processing Center for National Insurance Group, reported the press-centre of Energy Consulting Group.

Data Processing Center (DPC) is the core part of the customer’s plan aimed at developing IT infrastructure and implementation of business continuity technology. Energy Consulting/Integration has developed a solution preserving investments in the existing infrastructure of the customer, ensuring availability of services for users and alternatively data privacy upon occurrence of threats of information security. In particular this DPC shall become the main data processing center providing for operation and centralized management directly from the Moscow head office of all software complexes used by the customer. Above all it is a computer-controlled system based on SAP R/3 software. We want to remind that such system is currently implemented in National Insurance Group. Besides, these system requirements are the basis for designed technical specifications for DPC hardware platform.

The Data Processing Center of the NIG is based on Hewlett-Packard technologies (SAP R/3 environment server system: test and development server and productive environment server, software data and user information storage system, and additionally backup system for further building of failover solution for SAP R/3 application), Cisco Systems technologies (network interconnection subsystem for creation of Corporate Data Transfer System between offices and remote branches of the company, and for insuring fail-safe compatibility of services and applications with the Internet), and additionally APC technologies (air conditioning system, uninterruptible power supply system for active equipment). The DPC architecture utilizes approach, allowing solutions scaling, enhancing the center’s efficiency by increasing the number of servers.

The customer has imposed a range of particular requirements for the solution. Among them: high degree of reliability, performance and vitality, centralized control, information integrity upon occurrence of threats of information security, enhanced efficiency of using the group’s computational recourses.

According to Olga Tochena, Deputy Chairman of the Board of National Insurance Group, “the Data Processing center will allow our Company to use the existing IT infrastructure to the maximum and will guarantee safety of investments in the further enhancement of the complex. Besides this, one of basic requirements for the implemented DPC is a possibility to access corporate applications from remote offices of the group via different communication channels. All this is one of preparatory stages on the way to create an integrated SAP-based control system in National Insurance Group.
