OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2007. A press-conference of OJSC “TGC-5” Director General Eduard Smelov took place in Kirov. At the press-conference he told the journalists about the process of preparation to the autumn-winter season.

Today at OJSC “Territorial Generating Company № 5” stations in compliance with the plans the equipment has been prepared and the sufficient amount of fuel supply has been created to pass through the period of maximum demand of the winter 2007-2008.

TGC-5 primary equipment repairs are done in accord with the schedule. TGC-5 has spent over 730 million rubles on these purposes for the period of 9 months of the year 2007. As a result 82 primary equipment units have been repaired including 38 power boilers, 33 turbines, 12 hot-water boilers.

Current repairs of heat network in Mari, Udmurtia and Chuvashia branches of the company have been completed in full. In Kirov branch, where the quantity of defects has been the largest, its heat network being very long and old, 87% of repairs has been done.

Within the scope of the plan for major repairs, technical re-equipment and reconstruction 9,7 km of heat network has been replaced. 3 km are still under repair. Besides, the equipment of transfer pumping stations of the heat network in Kirov, Udmurtia and Chuvashia branches have been repaired.

Creating fuel supplies in TGC-5 is being carried out ahead of RAO “UES of Russia” plan targets. Coal supplies at branch stations equal to 379 thousand tons. Stocking black oil is also done in compliance with the schedule. In all the regions contracts with regional suppliers of natural gas have been signed for the year 2008.

Within the scope of preparation for the autumn-winter season at all TGC-5 stations the staff is being trained to prevent failures in case outside air temperature lowers considerably.

As TGC-5 deputy director of technical policy Yury Zykin remarked, the technological equipment of power stations and operative personnel being ready, fuel supplies being sufficient, TGC-5 can start the heating season in housing estates of Kirov, Kirovo-Chepetsk, Cheboksary, Novocheboksarsk, Izhevsk and Ioshkar-Ola at a stated time, immediately after the municipal administrations give their orders.

At present TGC-5 commissions are inspecting if the company’s stations and heat network are ready to satisfy maximum winter demand. In the commissions there are representatives of RAO “UES of Russia”, of corporate oversight bodies of Uralenergotechnadzor and Volgaenergo technadzor, Rostechnadzor, Emergency Control Ministry of Russia, representatives of technical services of the executive body and the branches. Seven out of eleven thermoelectric power stations have been inspected. It has been planned to complete the inspections by October 30.

TGC-5 intends to receive the Certificate of readiness by November 5, 2007.

The shares of TGC-5 underwent the procedure of listing on NP RTS on 10 November 2006 and on MICEX on 15 November 2006.
