American Airlines - New Partner of Moscow Domodedovo Airport
OREANDA-NEWS. American Airlines is to launch scheduled flights to Moscow Domodedovo International Airport from June 3, 2008. The Chicago-Moscow-Chicago service will be operated every day except Mondays, the Domodedovo press service disclosed. "Our aim is to provide convenient links to the major business centres of the world so we are delighted to be adding Moscow to the American Airlines global network," said Craig Kreeger, American's Senior Vice President. "This new flight will add another crown jewel in our sparkling international route network. From Chicago, American is - or soon will be - providing links to the world's key developing economies in Russia, China, and India as well as the established markets of Japan, Europe and Latin America. The Russian economy is booming and many of the top 100 US corporations are doing business there so the time is right to begin serving Moscow," added Mr Kreeger. Domodedovo is prepared to offer American Airlines' customers the widest route network in Russia and CIS.
"American Airlines decision to launch flights to Moscow Domodedovo International Airport once again proves that we have chosen the right development strategy. We are well in a position to offer our customers real quality service and the opportunity to develop their business effectively benefiting from advantage of the Russian and CIS markets," believes Mr Sergey Rudakov, Director of Domodedovo Airport Complex. American Airlines after British Airways, Iberia, Royal Jordanian and Japan Airlines will be the fifth OneWorld alliance member to become Domodedovo's partner.
American Airlines is the world's largest carrier. Together with American Eagle and American Connection, the airline operates in 250 cities in more than 40 countries worldwide and performs over 4,000 flights every day. The companies' joint fleet comprises over 1,000 aircraft. According to Business Traveller, a reputable German magazine, American Airlines is "the best Northern American airline" and has been retaining this title for as long as fifteen years.
