Russian Railways: Restoration Work at Leo Tolstoy Station
OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2007. Restoration work costing between 130-150 million roubles will be carried at the Leo Tolstoy Station to mark to centenary of the author’s death in 2010, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
A working meeting was held at the Station between representatives from the Leo Tolstoy Museum, South-Eastern Railways and the local authorities responsbile fro the restoration of memorials to the great author.
Tolstoy spend his last days at what is now Leo Tolstoy Station, formerly Astapovo.
In 2010, UNESCO will support a series of international events to mark the centenary of Tolstoy’s death.
