OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2007. The Economy Department of KAMAZ Inc. confirmed officially the saving rate of the half-yearly work of the joint enterprise created on a par with STS Logistics holding.

The parent enterprises of KAMAZ cooperated with all its services, suppliers and customers optimally. The transport costs were cut owing to more effective physical distribution and a double-side commodity distribution network. As a result, an additional profit at the sum of 28,603 million rubles was realized. Initially it was planned to save only 15 million rubles. KAMAZ expects from the project that the transport-procurement costs will have been cut by 100 million rubles by the end of the year.

KAMAZ Inc. in agreement with STS Logistics holding created a joint enterprise – STS-KAMAZ-Logistics in autumn 2006. According to Dmitry Parton, PR-Director of STS Logistics, KAMAZ announced repeatedly that the organization needs to optimize the schemes of transportation in order to reduce a transport component of its production.

If optimization of foreign transportation is successfully realized, the joint enterprise will start a large-scale infrastructure project. There will be created a logistic park in Naberezhnye Chelny, the primary task of which will be optimization of warehouse logistics.
