OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2007. For two years running Sovcomflot has become one of the finalists of the annual Platts Global Energy Award of the American information agency in energy sector in the nomination of “Energy Transporter of the Year” as the only Russian company in the finals of the industry’s most prestigious awards programme.

The finalists in 16 nominations were selected from almost 200 nominees, who represented 27 countries. The Jury of the Award, aiming at selecting the very best, was comprised of ex-ministers of energy of OPEC countries-members, representatives of national supervising authorities, former and acting directors of energy majors, leading academicians and international energy experts.

This March Sovcomflot became the finalist of another prestigious award. The Suezmax tanker “Vladimir Tikhonov” of 162,000 DWT and of 1A ice-class, owned by the Sovcomflot Group, reached the finals of the Lloyd’s List Award in the nomination the “Vessel of the Year”.
