Russian Railways Takes Part in Conference on Border Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. On October 11, 2007 the Russian delegation was led by Sergei Yastrzhembsky, an aide to President Putin, and included members of the Russian government and state Duma as well as Alexander Donkin, managing director of the Company’s Transport Service Centre, and Ivan Besyedin and Viktor Stepov, the heads of Kaliningrad Railways and Oktober Railways respectively, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
The European Union will be represented by Halldor Asgrimsson, General Secretary of the Nordic Council of Ministers, Marko Franko, the EU’s representative in Russia and Benita Ferrero-Waldner, member of the European Commission in charge of External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy.
The Conference will discuss a wide range of questions regarding border cooperation between Russia and the European Union, including the development of trade and economic relations in the border regions.
