Rostelecom Meets Delegation of China TieTong
OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2007. Rostelecom, Russia’s national long-distance carrier has met with the official delegation of China TieTong Telecommunications Corporation, one of China’s major telecommunications operators to discuss mutual interworking opportunities. At the meeting a Non-Disclosure Agreement was ceremonially signed by both parties to enable their cooperation along several lines of business.
Enhancement of cooperation with leading Asian and European telecom operators is aimed at increasing the throughput and improving Rostelecom’s network resilience along the Asia-Europe route to add more flexibility in meeting customers’ needs.
Maintaining a strong position on the international communication market Rostelecom consistently pursues vigorous policies of strengthening partner relationships with world’s leading telecommunications companies and increasing the number of direct interconnections with overseas carriers to ensure reliability of connections yet reducing the service cost.
Currently Rostelecom has implemented high-speed connections to Europe with Points of Presence in London, Stockholm, Helsinki, New York, Frankfurt and Hong Kong. Rostelecom has established direct interconnections with networks of over 140 operators in 72 countries, participates in 25 international cable systems and is involved in interworking with some 400 international operators.
