Gazprom Takes Part in Celebrations of Bashkortostan Joining Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. On October 11, 2007 Gazprom delegation chaired by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee took part in celebrations of the 450th Anniversary of Bashkortostan’s voluntary joining Russia, reported the press-centre of Gazprom.
Today Ufa has hosted a working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov and Murtaza Rakhimov, President of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
On behalf of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Alexander Ananenkov congratulated the Government and the people of the Republic of Bashkortostan on the memorable event and wished peace and prosperity.
Within the meeting the parties discussed the progress with executing the Agreement of cooperation between Gazprom and the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Particularly, the parties examined issues related to further development of gasification in Bashkiria and gas supplies to consumers of the Republic in 2008.

The Agreement of cooperation between Gazprom and the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Gasification Accord were signed on June 19, 2003.
Bashkiria is supplied with gas by 78 per cent including 91 per cent in cities and towns and 58 per cent in rural area. Russia’s average rates are at 58, 64 and 40 per cent, respectively.
In 2006 Gazprom supplied 16.3 bcm of gas to Bashkiria. The same amount is slated for this year.
