OREANDA-NEWS. On October 15, 6th Azerbaijan International Conference on Geophysics will be opened in Baku, at Crescent Beach Hotel. The conference was organized by SOCAR, Azerbaijan National Committee of Geophysics, and the Well Survey Association of Russia. The President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev is also expected to attend the conference. There will be more than 80 representatives from the UK, the US, Germany, Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and China. BP, Baker Hughes, Statoil Hydro, Caspian Geophysical, Wintershall, Halliburton, CNLC companies and AIS association are among the sponsors.

The representatives from BP, ASEP Holding B.V., CNLC and Baker Atlas companies, and the Earth Sciences Institute of Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, and Russian institutes such as “Yuqnefteqazgeologiya”, “Yujmorgeologiya” and All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute on Geophysical Survey of Wells, All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Geophysics will deliver lectures at the conference. Traditionally organized Azerbaijan International Conferences on Geophysics are generally devoted to the discussions of the problems and achievements in geophysics.

The directions of the future researches are also determined during these conferences. Up to now, many recognized scientists, geophysicists, experts, and large companies attended these periodic conferences, and discussed the important issues around development geophysics and exploration geophysics, as well as established the network for future cooperation. The last day of conference is October 16.
