OREANDA-NEWS. Press-conference which took place on the 10th of October in telephone conference hall, was participated by journalists from “Novaya Gazeta”, newspaper offices “Serovsky rabochyi”, “Globus”, “Stal” as well as Serovsk television and radio company (“STRIZH channel”).

Alexander Epifanov - director of Serovsk power networks - told journalists about preparation of the enterprise to work in autumn-winter period. He noted that members of commission headed by deputy chief engineer of JSC “Sverdlovenergo” - Viktor Ovchinnikov - estimated the readiness of Serovsk power networks for autumn-winter period for a week. Check-ups were organized in all areas of power networks and departments of the enterprise. According to the results of check-up, enterprise was granted a certificate of readiness to the winter.

For the present moment I can assure that Serovsk power networks are ready to work in autumn-winter period, - emphasized Alexander Alexandrovich. - Now we prepare all necessary additional equipment which can be used in hard-to-reach places. As for the personnel - for the present moment we don’t need additional staff. Besides we make a reconstruction and install new modern equipment at the sites of Serovsk power networks. All what we do is aimed to increase reliability of power supply for the consumers.
Another very important theme discussed on the press-conference - Prevention of children traumatism at the sites. Alexander Epifanov pointed out that this issue is of topical character cause number of accidents have increased recently. To prevent traumatism, there were developed special programs “Power is of danger” and “Power engineers are for safe working conditions” which are used to educate public in general and especially children and teens. Under these programs, lessons on electrosafety are conducted in schools which fall under responsibility of the enterprise. Pupils not knowing the common accident-prevention rules enter the sites which are under tension and get electric injuries.

Starting from Septemebr, such lessons were conducted in Serovsk, Sosva, Krasnoturinsk, Verkhoturye, Ivdel, Karpinsk and Novaya Lyalya. Electosafety lessons should continue till the end of 2007. In addition to work with pupils, mass media constantly informs people about the danger of being in the vicinity of power lines and provide people with different materials considering electrosafety. All work is conducted together with the heads of urban district, schools and mass media agencies.

In the end of press-conference, Alexander Epifanov answered to the questions of journalists and thanked them for cooperation with power engineers.
