OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2007. The construction of the new 1101010 kV “Manezhnaya” transformer substation started in JSC “Lipetskenergo” (JSC “IDGC of the Center” service area).

The necessity to construct a new transformer substation has been caused by the load growth stipulated by the construction of new administrative and social units, as well as, by theshaortage of transformer capacity, existing in the substation district. The commissioning of the new substation will considerably increase the volume of services due to the connection of new units and will increase the power supply reliability level of earlier connected customers.

“At the moment, there are no problems with power in the region, - said Rashid Rikamov, Director for Investments of JSC “Lipetskenergo”, - but the level of consumption in Lipetsk is constantly growing. The construction of the substation will allow to provide reserve some power for the customers of the city, its central part, and will lift restrictions on technological connection. Presently, we are forced to limit the technological connections of the several units under construction. The commissioning of “Manezhnaya” substation will lift these restrictions, and will allow the reconstruction of “Yuzhnaya” substation.”

The installation of the following advanced equipment is required at the substation: “Siemens” SF6 circuit breakers, gas-insulated current transformers, disconnecting devices with polymeric insulation, nonlinear over voltage suppressors and antiresonance voltage transformers. “Mekhkolonna #77” is the general contractor in the construction of 1101010 kV “Manezhnaya” substation, “Gorstroy” Ltd is the subcontractor. The working project was designed by JSC “Voronezhenergoproekt” on the technical enquiry of JSC “Lipetskenergo”. The contract price amounts to 250 mln rubles, 10 mln rubles have already been allocated for the project implementation. The commissioning of the substation is planned for 2008.
